Alicia Cintora, PhD

B.S. Materials Science & Engineering, 2014

Alicia earned her B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, where she began research on self healing materials as a first year student. She later completed her PhD at Cornell University as a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow, gaining international research experience and presenting her work across Asia and North America.

She has remained actively involved in the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, mentoring first generation and low income students while supporting STEM outreach and science policy efforts. Alicia is currently a Senior Materials Scientist at MonoSol, where she develops sustainable, water soluble polymer materials for everyday products.
